Le Bateau Ivre

an invitation to sail through french chamber music, from Debussy to Jolivet.

The story begins in Strasbourg, 2015. On this island at the heart of Europe, the paths of five young musicians cross.

From the violin - cello duet and the flûte, viola and harp trio, a quintet is born. With this unusual and elegant ensemble, they embark with Jean Cras on La Provence, the ship on which he composed his Quintette en 1928.

This work's interpretation by Le Bateau Ivre was warmly welcomed at the Léopold Bellan International Competition , where the ensemble was awarded the first prize of honour

The quintet was awarded two 3rd prizes in Osaka (Japan) in 2017 and Lucca (Italy) in 2018.

Since september 2018, Le Bateau Ivre studies at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris.
